IP in the Construction Process

In the Building design and construction process Internet Protocol (IP) is replacing many of the traditional proprietary means of transport for conventional Facility applications.

In the past lighting controls, HVAC controls, other BAS Systems, Security Systems, Audio and Video Systems, BMS, Elevator monitoring, Fire Alarm monitoring and Telephony all required installation of separate infrastructures.

The reliability of IP based building systems now allows (where building code allows) for these building applications to be converged onto a single high availability IP Network Infrastructure (separate from tenant requirements). The build-out of this high availability capability will allow for cost saving in the planning and implementation of your building services.

A coordinated effort of designers and contractors who will specify, and implement these systems is of paramount importance to the timely completion of your project.
